Freshman Registration Day
Sunday, March 18, 2012
We invite freshmen and parents to attend our Freshman Course Registration Day on March 18 in our school cafeteria. If you are currently not enrolled/registered, you may bring the completed paperwork and registration fee (if not waived) to the Registration Day event. However, please be aware, course forecasting will only be available to those students that are officially enrolled/registered for the 2012-2013 school year.
On the 18th, we will assist you in deciding on which classes you will be taking next year, and will also help you begin thinking about an overall plan for the next four years. We will also have information tables, as well as faculty and staff on hand, to assist you and provide details about other activities at AMHS.
In order to determine which Math and Science courses would best suit your needs, we rely on both the recommendations from your current teachers, as well as your performance on our Math/Science Placement test. This test will cover both Math and Science concepts and skills. In order to ensure your success in 9th Grade Math, please be aware your performance on this test may lead us to the decision to recommend or require your participation in our Algebra Scaffolding class.
Generally, students and their families are invited at the times listed below to avoid long wait times * :
Noon -- 1:00: Students with the last names beginning with A – D 1:00--2:00: Students with the last names beginning with E - K 2:00--3:00: Students with the last names beginning with L - N 3:00--4:00: Students with the last names beginning with O – Z
*PLEASE NOTE: Our Master Schedule is created with the requests made through this Course Registration Day process so that our classes DO NOT fill up.
Our course catalog will give you an overview of the classes you may take here at AMHS in the years to come. If you do not have Internet access, please contact our Student Services office for a hard copy of the catalog.
We look forward to seeing you on March 18.
