On December 23, we had 12 teams participate in our annual alumni 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Forty graduates from 1999 to 2011 participated in the well-attended, 3-hour tournament. There was also a faculty team on the court to give the alumni a run for their money. Plenty of parents and friends lined the gym to cheer on their favorite team. Highlights included a team of 2000 graduates giving a nod to Mr. Serwold’s years as varsity coach, as they played under the team name of “Serwold’s Finest.” In the end, the youngest alumni team prevailed on the hardwoods. Zach Smith (’11), Paris Felder (’11), and Anthony DeGrazia (’11) took home the title of 2011 AMHS Alumni Basketball Tournament winners. We look forward to growing the tournament over the years and making it an event that brings alumni back to Murphy for years to come.
