Letter of Intent

For four years at AMHS they impressed us with their athletic and academic success, now they’re taking those skills to the next level.

In front of family, coaches and faculty, 20 AMHS seniors signed letters of intent Wednesday morning in the gymnasium to play sports at more than 15 different colleges and universities across the country.

“What a remarkable achievement for this Class of 2012,” said AMHS Athletic Director Jerry Zander in his opening comments.

In addition to the 20 students who participated in Wednesday’s ceremony, two other students in February celebrated their commitment to play college-level sports.

AMHS President Matt Schambari thanked the coaches who guided the athletes over the years, their teammates who supported them, and their parents who “drove and drove and drove them everywhere to make this possible.”

Archbishop Murphy High School participates in the class 2A/1A Cascade Conference league and is a member of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. For sports that AMHS does not offer, students may play on teams of the public school where they live. Students row, play tennis, and participate in gymnastics on other teams.
