Fun and Exercise! Those two words best describe Physical Education here at Archbishop Murphy. Students move and have fun with a variety of different activities, some traditional like basketball and volleyball, some not so traditional like ultimate Frisbee and Wamba Ball.
Blaine Smith joined Archbishop Murphy High School in 2002. Blaine received his B.A. from University of Washington. He began his teaching career at Christ the King and worked there for over 12 years before coming to AMHS.
Blaine, an avid wrestler in high school and college, began the AMHS Wrestling Program in 2003. To this day Blaine coaches the Wrestling team and is also the head of the AMHS Physical Education and Health Department.
Cassie Snyder is a graduate of Whitworth University where she received her B.A. and M.I.T. degrees and was a member of the Whitworth University Women’s ’ Basketball Team.
Cassie taught at Harrison Preparatory School in the Clover Park School District and recently taught at Eastside Catholic High School.
She teaches Health, Strength and Conditioning, and serves as our Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach.
Jordan James is responsible for all student, student athlete, a team sport Strength and Conditioning needs at Archbishop Murphy High School. His previous Strength and Conditioning coaching experience includes Liverpool High School, St. Lawrence University, University of Cincinnati, San Jacinto College, Ignition Athletic Performance Group, and Velocity Sports Performance. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting, USA Track and Field, Functional Movement Systems, and Precision Nutrition. Jordan holds a Bachelors from St. Lawrence University and a Masters from California University. In his off time he enjoys spending time relaxing with his daughter and his boxer.
