Tuition & Fees

As part of Archbishop Murphy High School's commitment to Catholic education and desire to help make an AMHS education accessible, each family's tuition obligation is less than the actual cost of educating their student. In addition, we provide financial awards to qualifying families in need. Every student automatically receives a Catholic education subsidy in addition to any tuition awards that may be granted.

All students who want to attend Archbishop Murphy High School should submit their applications regardless of their financial background. Opportunities for financial aid are available from both AMHS and the Archdiocese of Seattle.

Tuition Breakdown - 2016/17

Beginning the 2016-2017 school year, your tuition payment will include your student’s registration fee, building fee, and fundraising/SCRIP obligation. These fees will no longer be billed as separate payments from tuition. Fees related to a student’s participation in sports, co-curriculars and other activities will still be billed separately from tuition and will be due at the time of sign up for that specific sport or activity. This new model will allow families to spread fee payments evenly throughout their preferred tuition payment plan. 

The cost to educate each student who walks through our doors is $17,345.

Tuition Options

Option 1 - base tuition:  $15,545 
 
Option 2 - Archbishop murphy partnership: $17,345 

Base tuition ($15,545) plus a tax-deductable donation of $1,800 to cover your student's Catholic education subsidy.

Option 3 - Holy Cross commitment: $19,145

Base tuition ($15,545) plus a tax-deductable donation of $3,600 to cover the Catholic education subsidy for your student and provide a grant to cover the subsidy for a family in need.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

  • Annually - Single payment of the applicant's tuition balance due by July 1. May be paid by check (payable to AMHS) or credit card (for credit card payment, a one-time convenience fee of 2.5% of your tuition payment will be applied. AMHS accepts Visa, MasterCard or Discover).
  • Semi Annually - Two tuition payments totaling full tuition balance by July 1 and January 1 via check.
  • Quarterly - Four tuition payments totaling full tuition balance in July, October, January, and April, via Smart Tuition. Payments may be made on the 1st or 15th of the month (a non-refundable $50 set-up fee will be applied to the July payment).
  • Monthly - Twelve monthly tuition payments totaling full tuition balance, via Smart Tuition. Payments begin in July and may be made on the 1st or 15th of the month (a non-refundable $50 set-up fee will be applied to the July payment).

Based on the chosen tuition plan, monthly or quarterly payments will vary depending on method of payment chosen (credit card, check, automatic deduction from checking or savings). A specific payment plan will be delineated upon signing of tuition contract.

In addition to tuition, each family agrees to provide 20 volunteer hours to the school between July 1 and June 30. Alternative options to fulfill this obligation are available and are explained in your enrollment contract.

For families with one child enrolled full time at AMHS, each additional sibling concurrently enrolled full time through the fall semester will receive a $1,100 discount on his/her annual tuition, in addition to any tuition assistance or other awards.
