SPORTS AT ARCHBISHOP MURPHY HIGH SCHOOL: WHAT WE OFFER

Archbishop Murphy High School has a tradition of athletic excellence both on the playing fields and in the classroom.

Since the opening of the school in 1988 as Holy Cross High School (renamed AMHS in 1999), the school has won 15 athletic state championships, 21 academic team championships, and 94 league championships. AMHS competes in the WESCO 2A/3A league for all sports except Football. AMHS Football competes in the Northwest Conference Sky Division.

ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AT ARCHBISHOP MURPHY

AMHS fields 20 different sports teams throughout the year and offers non-cut teams each season. All of the athletic teams receive dedicated pre season and in season strength training from our Director of Wellness and Sports Performance.

AMHS also partners with IRG for our athletic trainer. Many teams have a junior varsity and freshman team in addition to the varsity team.

Our spacious 22 acre campus is home to Terry Ennis Stadium, where we hold football, soccer, and lacrosse. Our gymnasium hosts our basketball and volleyball teams, and the upper campus holds Roman Miller Field for baseball and our softball field. Students can also participate in tennis, golf, swim and dive, cross country, and track and field.

OTHER ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITIES AT ARCHBISHOP MURPHY

Archbishop Murphy High School loves to celebrate students who participate in athletic opportunities outside of school such as gymnastics, equestrian riding, bowling, and figure skating.

The strength and conditioning program we designed for student athletes is open to all students who are enrolled in the school. This comprehensive program includes the use of TEAMBUILDR, an in-season and off-season online tool that allows athletes to access the strength and conditioning program on their phones, computers, and paper. This allows our strength & conditioning coach to create customized workouts in real time for individual players or position groups.
