Mission:

AMHS Business Pathway empowers students to pursue their curiosities and futures in the myriad of career pathways available to them in local, national, and global markets. Committed to cultivating insight, the program enhances student understanding of business administration, marketing, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship through a specialized curriculum and experiential learning. In alignment with the mission of AMHS, the program is committed to providing opportunities to develop the necessary skill sets and ethics to function effectively in the 21st century workplace.

Admissions Criteria for Applicants

A student admitted to AMHS Business Pathway possesses: 

  • An interest in business
  • Motivation and maturity 
  • Strong academic and extracurricular records 
  • A high quality personal interview with the Business Pathway Program Director
  • A high quality recommendation from a teacher, club advisor, coach, or manager
  • Approval of AMHS Administration and the Business Pathway Program Director  
  • The ability to participate in the program’s meetings and activities, some which may take place outside of regular school hours

Instructions for the Applicant and Parent: Please complete the steps below. Applicants who provide strong records will be invited for a personal interview at AMHS.

I am applying to AMHS Business Pathway Program. I understand that:

  • This pathway will prepare me for career exploration as well as vocational development.
  • It is a 2-4 year elective program, depending on grade level entry into the program.
  • The course requirements for this program are: Introduction to Business, Marketing & Management, and an Internship OR Future Ready.
  • I must register as a DECA member for each year I'm in the program.
  • I must complete 24 additional hours of community service in a business-related setting by April of my senior year, outside of the 24 hours per grade level required by AMHS. 
  • This program requires participation in the program’s activities and projects, which may take place outside of regular school hours. 
  • There will be a one-time program entrance fee of approximately $150. This will cover program materials such as a BPP blazer and snacks at meetings. There will be additional fees for DECA membership and competition each year that will be billed separately.
