📣 Alumni Spotlight: Allie Sinex ‘07 🎓
Sometimes, the path we’re meant to follow begins with a place that already feels like home. For Allie Sinex ‘07, Archbishop Murphy was that place.
As a student, Allie loved being part of a community where teachers and mentors truly knew their students. There was room to grow, try new things, and discover who you were without getting lost in the crowd.
Years later, when Allie was considering going back to school to earn her master’s degree and become a counselor, she returned to AMHS to shadow two of her former counselors, Jane Brown and Tim Blair.
Just one week later, she received a call from Vice Principal John Matusak. He asked if Allie would consider joining the team as a counseling assistant while pursuing her master’s degree. She said yes.
That same week, she started her master’s program and began working at AMHS.
“God had such a plan for me… it was just meant to be.”
What began as a decision to explore a new career became a full-circle return to the community that had shaped her.
Today, Allie serves as Counseling Department Head, Counselor, and Volleyball Coach, helping students navigate academics, friendships, family challenges, personal growth, and life.
At AMHS, four full-time counselors support approximately 460 students, and each counselor stays with their students for all four years. For Allie, that continuity is meaningful because it allows counselors to build lasting relationships with students and their families and be there through all the changes and milestones of high school.
“One thing I love so much about our position as school counselors here at this school is that we get to help with all facets of their life.”
Her advice to today’s Wildcats is simple: don’t get caught up in comparison. Work hard, learn, grow, make mistakes, and trust the path you’re on.
“God is going to get us exactly where we’re supposed to be.”
From a student who once walked these halls to a counselor now helping Wildcats find their own way, Allie’s story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the places that shape us become the places where we are called to serve others ❤️🤍🖤

Some moments become part of a school’s story forever ❤️🖤
Last night, we were proud to welcome AMHS alumnus (’17) and Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Abe Lucas back to Archbishop Murphy High School, a place he can always call home.
Abe’s story reminds us that the impact of athletics goes far beyond competition. It helps shape character, build discipline and prepare young people to make a difference in the world around them.
Through his transformative commitment to AMHS, Abe is helping give the next generation of Wildcats the opportunity to train, grow, compete and pursue excellence.
Thank you, Abe, for believing in Archbishop Murphy and investing in the Wildcats who come next. Your legacy will live on for generations! 🐾❤️🖤
