Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School is a private Catholic, college preparatory school that welcomes students of all faiths. True to the spirit of the gospel, Archbishop Murphy nurtures the full development of the gifts that God has given to each student, fosters service as an outgrowth of faith, and values diversity. 📣 Alumni Spotlight: Ellie Bailey ‘19 🎓
For Ellie Bailey, Class of 2019, the relationships she built at Archbishop Murphy High School became an important part of the path that led her back to Catholic education.
A connection through a former classmate’s parent first introduced Ellie to an opportunity with the Archdiocese of Seattle. Today, she works as Office Coordinator with the Office for Catholic Schools, where she helps coordinate professional development opportunities that bring educators together to connect, learn and grow.
“It’s really special to see those relationships come full circle. I now even work alongside parents of people I went to high school with.”
For Ellie, her work is also an opportunity to give back to a community that played an important role in her own life.
“I love what I do because it allows me to give back to a community that was really good to me. The work we do supports educators, and ultimately that impact reaches students throughout Catholic schools across Western Washington.”
Looking back, Ellie admits her high school self may never have expected this path.
“I didn’t really know what I wanted to do in high school, so she probably wouldn’t believe that I’m working for the Archdiocese today. But I think she’d be proud.”
Ellie’s journey is a reminder of the lasting impact of community, connection and the relationships built during the high school years.
