Give to The Fund a Need

The November 2024 DREAM Auction Fund-A-Need will focus on our goal of enhancing Student Support Services to better meet the needs of all students. This project features the renovation of our existing library space to create a more robust Resource Center for Student Support Services. 

This Resource Center will incorporate the existing Tech Help Desk, with an updated library area and new Counseling Center. This space will feature our library collection front and center and provide an adjacent seating area for college admissions visits, class meetings, and after school study sessions and support labs. The new Counseling Center will adjoin individual counselor offices and a small conference room for student-counselor-parent meetings connected within this larger space.

As AMHS celebrates 35 years as the premiere Catholic High School in Snohomish County, we are in critical need of upgrades to our classrooms to give our students the best possible experience.  While our creative and talented faculty already deliver high quality instruction grounded in 21st century learning skills, our furniture and aesthetics remain stuck in the past.  We want our classroom environments to communicate the tremendous depth of care and engaging curriculum that differentiates AMHS from other schools.  Unfortunately, our furnishings and many of our classrooms are not on par with peer schools.  In fact, many of our desks reflect a design popularized in the 1970s. Classrooms of the 21st century prioritize team work, collaboration, and integration of technology. Our classroom furniture is not only outdated but clunky, limiting more collaborative arrangements. Student comfort supports a sense of safety and engagement in learning.  Improved ergonomics will provide better integration of technology in instruction, such as student laptop use. Students engaging in high quality, modern instruction deserve a modernized physical classroom environment to honor their high level work.
