Athletics Hall of Fame

The 2026 Hall of Fame induction ceremony recognized and celebrated the contributions of trail-blazing athletes, coaches, and teams who left an unforgettable mark on AMHS athletics. From groundbreaking athletes who shattered records, to visionary coaches who inspired generations, to teams that redefined the meaning of excellence, our inaugural event honored those whose impact transcended the boundaries of the playing field.

2026 Inductees

Female Athlete: Alyssa (Smith) Pfahler ’09

AMHS Highlights:

  • Led the Wildcats to a 26-1 record as a senior. The girls basketball team finished second in the 2A state tournament where she was first team all tournament.
  • Voted the Cascade Conference MVP as a junior and senior after leading Archbishop Murphy to back-to-back conference championships.

University of Montana Highlights:

  • Four time Academic All Big Sky Conference.
  • Twice voted the teams’ Shannon Green Most Inspirational Player 
  • Started every game her sophomore, junior, and senior year.
  • Junior season: Finished second on the team in both 3-point field goals (30) and steals (44) and third in assists (47).
  • Sophomore season: Had five double-figure scoring games, with a season-high 14 points against UCLA (3.19) in NCAA tournament game.

Female Athelete: Kat (Taylor) Vickers ’05

AMHS Highlights: 

  • Four-year AMHS varsity letter winner in soccer for coach Pat Jack 
  • Four-year AMHS varsity letter winner in basketball 
  • Two-year soccer captain 
  • Finished senior season with 32 goals and 16 assists. Scored a total of 143 goals in her high school career 
  • Named the 2004 All-Area Girls Soccer Player of the Year 
  • Played for Northwest Nationals 2001-2005 

Collegiate Career Highlights: 

  • Freshman (2005): Played soccer at the Air Force Academy…led team in shots (45) and recorded two goals. 
  • Sophomore (2006): Played soccer at the Air Force Academy…scored one goal and appeared in 19 matches. 
  • Junior (2007): Attended Gonzaga University but did not play soccer. 
  • RS-Junior (2008): Attended Gonzaga University but did not play soccer in the fall. Played for the Bulldogs in the spring.

Male Athlete: Sam Shober ’12

AMHS Highlights:

  • Career stats – 278 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 18 sacks and 1 interception
  • Participated in final four of 2A state football playoffs all 4 years at AMHS (Freshman – 3rd place, Sophomore – 3rd place, Junior – 2nd place, Senior – 2nd place)
  • 2011 (Senior): Associated Press 2A Football All-State 1st Team
  • 2011 (Senior): All-Area Football, Seattle Times and Everett Herald first team
  • 2011 (Senior): All-Cascade Conference first team
  • 2010 (Junior) and 2011 (Senior): AMHS Football team captain
  • Lettered in Football (3x) Basketball (2x) and Track (1x)
  • 2011 (Senior): Wendy’s High School Heisman Finalist
  • 2011 (Senior): US Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete recipient
  • 2012 (Senior): Earl Barden 2A East/West Football Classic participant
  • 2008-2011 Career AMHS Football record (27-1 Cascade Conference; 46-6 Overall)

Stanford University Highlights:

  • Played football at Stanford University 4 years (2012-3, 2013-4, 2014-5, 2015-6)
  • Participated in 3 Rose Bowl games (2013, 2014 & 2016)
  • 2016 (Senior): Started at Stanford on special teams
  • 2016 (Senior): Pac-12 All-Academic team
  • 2012-2015 Career Stanford Football (28-8 Pac12; 43-12 Overall)
  • 2016 (Senior): Stanford Football finished 3rd in the Associated Press rankings

Male Athlete: Isaac Westlund ’15

AMHS Highlights: 

  • Won the 2015 Washington 2A state 400 title in 47.84. 
  • Dedicated his state title to his late teammate, Kristi Bartz. 
  • Was 2A runner-up in 2014, running a personal best 47.75. 
  • State finalist in the 200 in 2015, placing fourth. 
  • Placed sixth in 2014 2A 200 final. 
  • The Cascade Conference champion in both events in 2014 and 2015.
  • Swept the 2015 Northwest/Sea King Bi-District 200 and 400 titles. 

Stanford University Highlights: 

Personal bests (thru 2019): 

  • 400: 47.75 
  • 200: 22.09 

Senior (2019): 

Outdoors: 

  • Pac-12 All-Academic second team. 

Indoors: 

  • MPSF All-Academic. 

Junior (2018):

  • Ran season 400 best of 48.33 to place second at the Payton Jordan Invitational. 
  • Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

  • MPSF All-Academic.

Indoors: 

  • Recorded season 400 best and indoor PB of 49.28 at the Don Kirby Invitational. 
  • Ran the third leg on Stanford’s winning 4×400 relay at the UW Indoor Preview. 
  • MPSF All-Academic selection. 

Freshman (2016): 

Outdoors: 

  • Made collegiate debut at the Stanford Invitational, running the 400 in 49.78. 
  • Ran second leg on runner-up 4×400

  • PE Department Chair–taught every freshman from 2002 through 2018

  • Wrestling coach from 2003-2020
  • Coached 29 AMHS state participants including two state champions: Cameron and Foster Wade.
  • Coached 26 AMHS wrestlers to Cascade Conference individual titles in their weight class.
  • Wrestling team won the 2008 Cascade Conference Championship
  • Named Snohomish County Officials Association Coach of the Year 2007
  • Named Cascade Conference Coach of the Year 2017
