Kristi Bartz Endowment

KRISTI’S STORY

Kristi was an accomplished athlete. She played select soccer for eight years and was one of the AMHS varsity

captains during her senior year. On a service trip to Cambodia in 2013, she shared her passion for soccer with victims of human trafficking. Additionally, she excelled at track and field, holding three records at AMHS in the 1600m, 800m, and the high jump. She was excited about continuing to run in college. In honor of Kristi’s life, her number “4” soccer jersey and track uniforms have been retired at AMHS .

On Saturday May 9, 2015, Kristianne Nicole Bartz spent the last day of her life enjoying the sunshine with fellow AMHS students. At age 17, she was days away from graduating with high honors from Archbishop Murphy High School, and had plans to attend the University of British Columbia in the fall on a track scholarship.

Kristi challenged herself to make a difference in the lives of the people she met, and to continue to grow in her own relationship with God. Her strong faith was evident in the way that she loved and cared for others. She lived entirely in the present moment, an adventurous spirit with limitless imagination. Her mannerisms, humor, ideas and philosophies provided endless entertainment for all those she knew. She was a bright light, and her family and friends continue her legacy through this endowment.
