Applications for admission to Archbishop Murphy High School for the 2023-24 school year are due January 5, 2023.
Still thinking about where you or your child will go to high school? It’s not too late to apply for admission to Archbishop Murphy High School! Our final application deadline is January 5th, 2023.
WHY AMHS?
At Archbishop Murphy High School, we strive for academic excellence within a Christ-centered community. Our school has a 100% college acceptance rate and a 100% graduation rate.
Our students benefit from unique opportunities to explore their interests, including a health studies pathway program, a business/internship pathway program, a STEM program, athletics programs, arts opportunities, and many more. Students can earn college credit through a wide range of AP courses or the Matteo Ricci program.
Our students also grow spiritually through retreats, wellness and spirituality programming, theology classes, community service, and monthly Catholic Mass. We want students to have an authentic experience of Christ’s presence in each aspect of their daily lives.
DEADLINES
Our final application deadline for the 2023-24 school year is January 5th, 2023. You will find out whether you have been accepted by February 17th. After that, you will have until March 2nd to register for freshman courses.
Here are some key dates you may want to put on your calendar:
- January 5th, 2023: Final AMHS application deadline
- January 6th, 2023: Middle School Murphy Night (3-9pm)
- February 5th, 2023, Open House (2-4pm)
- February 17th, 2023: Acceptance
- March 2nd: Course registration for the Class of 2027 (4-8pm)
HOW TO APPLY
Ready to apply? You will need an application form, fee payment, teacher recommendation, transcript request form, and your application essay (as described below) to get started.
If you are an international student, you must start the application process through Cambridge Network. Otherwise, you can follow the process below.
1. COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM
Create an account with Archbishop Murphy Parent Portal to apply. This portal lets you complete the application form, view your application status, and schedule a Wildcat Shadow Day visit.
2. PAY THE APPLICATION FEE
Our application fee is $30. You can pay it online through the same program you used to apply above. If you’d rather not pay online, you can mail a check to AMHS.
3. ASK A TEACHER FOR A RECOMMENDATION
AMHS requires applicants to have a teacher recommendation. We use a confidential teacher evaluation form with questions about the student’s academic strengths, weaknesses, personal qualities, special circumstances, and more.
Please give the recommendation form to one of your current teachers. Your teacher can send the completed form to AMHS via email, fax, or mail.
4. REQUEST YOUR SCHOOL REPORT AND TRANSCRIPT
Give a copy of our school report/transcript request form to the main office of your current school. They can send your report and transcript to us via email, fax, or mail.
5. WRITE YOUR APPLICATION ESSAY
If you are a 9th grade applicant, you will need to write a 250-500 word application essay. Our essay prompt for 2022-23 is below:
Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
