Archbishop Murphy Girls Basketball Coach Snyder Honored

Archbishop Murphy girls basketball coach Cassie Snyder was named the Class 2A coach of the year by the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association during the WSGBCA’s senior all-state games March 17 at King’s High School.

Snyder guided the Wildcats to a 24-3 record and second-place trophy in the 2A Hardwood Classic in Yakima.

Snyder coached the 2A team against the 1A squad, which posted a 106-85 win. Archbishop Murphy’s Maddie Hill (19 points) and Megan Dorney (10 points), and Lakewood’s Jelly Perry (12 points, five rebounds) played for the 2A squad.

The 4A team defeated the 3A squad 104-59. Lake Stevens’ Kylee Griffen had 11 points and five blocks for the 4A team. Ashley Alter of Stanwood recorded two rebounds, and Arlington’s Peyton Brown tallied six points for the 3A squad.
